Re: Red Dead Redemption
I got the bandana a while ago, yeah, but I've never used it for anything yet. I'm seen as an honourable mercenary to the people and I'm gonna keep it that way, unless I need it for a mission later on or something.

I used the bandanna to put a ho on the train tracks and then rob the train seeing as I already had it on but the bounty I incurred stuck with me so I don't see the point. Next playthrough I'll be an outlaw evading the po po on they neigh neigh.
Re: Red Dead Redemption
How d'you go about robbing trains? Just shoot everyone and loot?

I am a baaaad man. Pretty much spend all my time and money gambling, until I run out of money. Then I go kill some civilian and his horse, loot the body, skin the horse so I can sell it, and hit the bar again. FML.

Re: Red Dead Redemption
I was gonna say there's not enough duels but then I did some more mission with that LR guy (who's the best btw) and there was some fun dueling. German couldn't take a beaten like.
Anyway, I drank 4 glasses once and he stumbled back and then everything was fine, poop.

Re: Red Dead Redemption
Completed it. 8/10 game as far as single player goes, almost a 9.
Hate how Marsten looks after you've completed it and does anyone just kind of turn off open world game when they finish the story and are left to wander around afterwards?
Looking forwards to getting back online and playing some free roam though.

I always do that. I can explore and run around for ages throughout the game but when I finish it I find so boring to just run around lol.
Re: Red Dead Redemption
Finally finished this. On the whole this was a pretty magnificent game, an epic in every sense of the word. If anything lets it down it might be that the gameplay just isn't always fun enough to sustain 26 hours of play. Been playing it on and off for a few weeks.
This has gotta be one of the best written games ever though. So much dialogue, and so much of it its genuinely good. Even though they tried maybe a bit too hard to make Marston the wisest guy in the west. We get it, the guy understands, no need to make him God.
But the story as a whole is fantastic, the exploring addictive. Lovely graphics and the arrival in Mexico is amazing atmospherically. I want to see more games like this!

Re: Red Dead Redemption
The story is what drags this game down along with repetitive mission structure.
Re: Red Dead Redemption
You think? I agree on mission structure. Riding for 10 minutes at the start of every mission was a bore. But I thought the story had plenty of qualities. I especially liked how they never overdid the exposition and the character interaction was usually of very high standards.

Re: Red Dead Redemption
I wasn't convinced by it at the start, but about half way through Mexico I saw how brilliant it was really. I thought the first half of the game was probably a 7, the latter half was a 9.

Re: Red Dead Redemption
The pace was completely off. I thought the game was coming to a close towards the end of Mexico.
