Went to see Local Natives last Wednesday which was incredible, got to chill with the band after too.

Went o see The Bloody Beetroots last night which was fucking nuts. Awesome, but one of the craziest gigs I've ever been at.

Lately I've mainly been listening to Gorillaz 'Plastic Beach'. I love it.

Anybody got any new music to recommend actually? Like albums that have been released this year?

Been listening to Plastic Beach a bit too. Empire Ants and the song with Lou Reed are so good.

Just listened to MGMT's new album. I like it better as a whole than their debut. They're gonna lose some fans tho, there are no Kids/Time to Pretend/Electric Feel style radio friendly songs here.

Interpol are a poor mans Joy Division though.

So they say. The bands aren't really similar though, apart from the singers voice.

True that.

And the bass? Between all three bands i hear a similar kinda bass, i dunno, i might be going mad.

Not mad, they all have strong bass.

But Interpol and Editors are way to 'pop rock' sounding for the Joy Division comparisons they always get.

I always thought they sounded more like a miserable version of The Strokes than JD.

And you, sir, just listed the three MGMT songs on my iPod! I'mma give said album a miss.

I'd still give it a listen. Those are the only songs I like on their first album too. This one has better album songs, but none that stand out as obvious singles.

Loved the first two, not a fan of the third at all.

Yeah, first 2 so far, my mate gave me them for my i-pod. Havnt heard much of the new one except Papillion.

Saw UNKLE live 3 years ago at Oxegen. They're good.

I believe we have some Crystal Castles fans so I might as well point out that album 2 has leaked onto that internet thingamajig.

It's a promo, but it's the whole thing.

It's a lot more coherent than their last body of work, more mellow tracks too. The only real duff has been Doe Deer, which seems to be the obligatory track which would better off live because it's aggressive noise and Alice attempting to ruin her vocal chords.
I've only got onto track 8 but the quality of music and vocals has improved a lot.

Another great album from this guy. Nothing as completely amazing as the 2 stand out tracks from the last album, but still very solid all round.
