Re: Now Playing...
Nuts & Bolts gets better every time I play it. Today I did a challenge to protect the golden egg from kamikazes in Nutty Acres. I attempted unsuccessfully to beat them in dogfights, so I left it. I returned later, determined to best them. What seemed like the most ingenious idea ever came to me, and I made a huge turret, constructed at its core with ammo crates. I plonked the egg turret on top, built stairs at the back and stuck some engines, fuel and propellers on so I could transport it. I started the challenge and flew this enormous construction over to the farm, landing it and blasting the planes when I arrived. I won the Jiggy, but was still short of the TT Trophy.
I realised then that I could probably protect the egg with a sufficiently large casing, so on the front of the turret I built a huge box with an open bottom. I exceeded the parts limit a few times, but managed to slim out other bits of the vehicle enough to finish the armour. I had to put several baloons on top of the thing to get it to move, but it worked! I flew it over, dropped myself on the egg, leapt to the turret and blasted away. Not that I need have bothered, my enemies weren't in with a chance of getting near it. TT Trophy in the bag, felt so awesome.

Re: Now Playing...
I still need to give that a proper bash. I bought it for a fiver off a mate just after I got my 360 but I may more interested in other games at the time. I liked the hour or so I played so I imagine I would like the rest of it.
I didn't have Xbox Live then so I hope there is an update to fix the text, I couldn't make out any of it.

I'm doing a MGS series playthrough atm. On MGS2
Its aged surprisingly well. Pity that it can't maintain a decent balance between discourse and action however

Re: Now Playing...
I'm tempted to get Nuts and Bolts having read that egg scenario. Is it all vehicles or has it got sections reminiscent of the first 2 where you go to a world and do tasks on foot for jiggies?
Re: Now Playing...
It's pretty much all vehicle based. There's some platforming in Showdown Town, though, but that's less than ten per cent of the experience. It's the kind of game you'd like if you got into it, and it's probably worth a punt if you see it cheap (which it is almost everywhere).
I think it's a fiver pre-owned in game.

I'm about halfway through both MGS and MGS3 at the mo'. You're right, both are well preserved given their age, though I was surprised to recall how much of the first game is essentially 2D.
Fraser's convinced me to lob a fiver on Nuts and Bolts, too. Creating stuff is well cool.

Re: Now Playing...
Been playing a load of MW2 really...I have to disagree with you Kaviar, I was so disappointed by Dragon Age I have decided that I just can't stand fantasy RPGs. Hated Oblivion too.
I have the definitive verdict on my top 5 GOTY:
1. Assassin's Creed 2
2. Modern Warfare 2
3. Batman: Arkham Asylum
4. UFC 2009: Undisputed
5. Borderlands
Honorable mentions to Left 4 Dead 2, Resident Evil 5 and Skate 2...IMO.

Its very very tempting to give it a 10 if you just come out of a screening. I was literally shellshocked, and its not surprising if people give it a 10

That score will haunt me forever
But I refuse to go back on it. It's more of a pride thing now I think

I haven't seen it but I imagine being one of the first films to really utilize 3D helps its case.
