María llena eres de gracia
Struggled to empathise with the characters and the whole plotline seemed rushed and insubstantial, despite initial promise. Disappointing.

Katyń
A very emotional and skillfully directed film about the Katyń forest massacre of Polish troops by the Russians in 1940 that interweaves pieces of the story stretching across the whole war. One of the most affecting endings I've ever seen - the audience just sat in stunned silence and it was the best part of a minute before anyone moved a muscle.

The Hangover
Very funny comedy which is cleverly put together. Wonderful acting from relative unknowns. Great!

Yeah, I watched the Hangover not stoned and it was much better. Agree with what you said. "Not at the table Carlos"

Well THERE'S your problem. Watch it again. I felt it was a 3/5 first time round. A low 3 at that.
Re: Recently Viewed Films - Reviewed
Jesse James gets better and better the more you watch it. It'l be considered a future classic no doubt.

Re: Recently Viewed Films - Reviewed
Should films require multiple viewings to impress? I'm not one to rewatch or replay anything, so wasting time going over things a second or even third time isn't a feasible option most of the time.
Anyway, just been to the pictures, then came home and watched summat else. In a real film mood the last few weeks.
Coco avant Chanel
An engrossing and slick telling of the designer's "origins story" of sorts. Tatou is excellent and as lovely as ever and Fontaine does a decent job in the director's chair, though it can at times feel slightly aimless. The ending in particular could have been handled better, but doesn't detract terribly from the rather great whole.
3.5/5 [don't usually give half points, but this is a flat 70 and I didn't feel 3 or 4 alone did it justice]
Bullets or Ballots
Rollicking 1930s gangster flick that plays around a little with the formula. Bogart's performance is sadly the only one of real note, but it's an almost perversely enjoyable bag of cliches. Well worth seeking out.

The Time Traveler's Wife
Surprisingly solid and surreal tale of a man who inexplicably and unpredictably travels through time. Touching and enjoyable, if a little cheesy in places. Wish I'd known beforehand, but it's a great one to take a girl to.
3/5
Been to the pictures 4 out of the last 5 days and going back the next two. I'll have been every day this week (Mon-Fri) if I do.

Mad Max 2
Much improved over the original, exciting and entertaining. One can see where Fallout 3 has taken many of its ideas from, a game I incidentally started playing again today as a result of this film

Inglourios Basterds- 4.5 or a 9.
Jesus, its god to have Tarantino back, Acts 1 and 4, (Landa's intro, and the La Louisiane, Michael Fassbender scenes) are as good as Tarantino has ever been, or will ever be.
Pitt is great, Waltz is great, Melanie Laurent is ASTONISHING. I mean realy, she grows on you, and gorgeous too, she made a french porno one apparently

Inglorious Basterds - I absolutely loved it. I want to give it a 10/10 but I have a feeling I will change my mind after a while. Still a fantastic film and one of Tarantino's bests.

Here is the only place I have heard good things about that film
I saw that Dance Flick film the other day and its got some rely funny moments but it is the forgettable kind of film if you get my drift.
A sold 3/5 but well worth a watch if you want a cheap giggle
