The new Psyclon Nine album leaked yesterday. Suddenly, other music just doesn't seem as important anymore.

Biffy Clyro - The Captain
I just don't know who to point the finger at for this. Whether it comes down to producer GGGarth's lack of understanding of the raw energy that fans seek in Biffy ahead of overproduction to the max, or more simply the commercial nature of 14th Floor (they also put Mountains on the tracklisting, fuckers), The Captain is a poor, poor track. Not only does it butcher a decent demo in Help Me Become Captain, but I can honestly say I've never been letdown by Biffy in the many years of following them until now. I could take the over-the-top orchestration on Living Is A Problem, and I could bare the slightly cringeworthy chorus of Mountains, but The Captain is just a step too far.
Maybe it'll grow on me.
Or I can just listen to Robbie Williams' fantastic new single, Bodies, which combines the tongue-in-cheek lyrics of Rudebox with the anthemic Robbie of the earlier days. It's just nice to see something a little more respectable in that scene, and I hope his new album is a success. Plus I have a fucking huge mancrush on him.

Girl Talk - Summer Smoke.
Jesus. Has anybody else listened to him? I mean, wow. He's unbelievable. I had an album floating around my itunes, but never really gave it the time it clearly deserved. Until now. I have Night Ripper and Feed The Animals, both albums are incredible. Probably the best mash-up work I've ever heard.

Muse - The Resistance
5/5
I'm literally blown away. Yesterday, I claimed it was up there with Origin. Today, after another three listens, I actually prefer it. Epic in scope and often beautiful musically, The Resistance is more one big soundscape than a collection of tracks. Just buy it, and give it a few listens, please.

Re: Now Playing
Woah, bold statement. The CD/DVD arrived today but I've only managed about three listens because I've been busy.
Being the ridiculous Muse fanboy that I am and knowing at least three tracks off by heart plus the thirty second excerpts of other ones, it's been a fucking momentous experience. Exogenesis nearly had me in fucking tears by the end.
Unnatural Selection is rad, MK ULTRA is similarly great. Resistance is mindblowing, Uprising we all know is totally sweet, Undisclosed Desires is incredible, I Belong to You is incredibly groovy and quite a departure for Muse, Guiding Light is like Killers if they didn't suck balls and tried to pull of a slow jam with Queen trappings, and obviously THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE!
Impressions currently - not as good as Origin (10) or Absolution (11), on a par with Black Holes (9) and a touch better than Showbiz (9). It'll keep growing on me, which is pretty great because it's already a 9. 93% to be Pitchfork specific and deduct their probable score from 100.

Re: Now Playing
I do not like Muse, but this Exogenesis sounds interesting.
Once I've finished looking like a weeaboo with The World Ends With You soundtrack I shall have a listen.

Re: Now Playing
The new Muse album sounded like a parody to me.
Listened to it through a few days back. Really corny stuff
Maybe I will grow to like it
Still love OoS

Re: Now Playing
Yeah, I've just finished it and nothing really impressed me at all.
Exogenesis was okay, but nowhere near as special as I thought it could have been.
I can't say it's changed my opinion really. I'll occasionally listen to Butterflies and Hurricanes and Sing For Absolution but that's about it.

It has crept up to 98% now. Officially their second best in my eyes. Listening to it makes my hairs stand on end every time.
