I completed the Normandy Crash Site mission, but didn't get the 'operative' achievement?? This happen to anyone else?

I have to say, scanning every planet to find an anomaly for the 'agent' achievement is pretty tiresome. But sometimes I will spend like an hour just scanning planets for some resources...

Considering the amount of time I spent trawling planets, I'm surprised how many anomalies I didn't come across. One, maybe, in the whole playthrough. I finished it earlier, by the way. Incredible.

If a planet has an anomaly it will tell you as soon as you start scanning. I read somewhere there are 19 N7 missions in total.

Yeah, you would think to look at her that she is the lesbain type, but she is hetro.

Anyway, I finished it again before, managed to save everyone this time. I just can't believe I will have to wait another 2 years or so for Mass Effect 3. I want to know what effects my actions will have on the Universe! Easily one of my most anticipated games of all time.

Oh, I should give ME2 a score, it would be a 9/10. Barely any games this generation that I would give a 9 to. I was expecting it to be good, but not that good that I has me wanting to play it every second of the day. Honestly, I've done my back in with so much sitting in the last few days. Need to go out for a stretch now.

I've been playing for 28 hours now. Still have so much left in the tank though! Can't wait to get stuck back into it tomorrow. I originally planned to shag Miranda, but then I disagreed with her and sided with Jack during an argument after the 'Subject Zero' mission...Now Miranda won't speak with me. I consequently shagged Jack, and she is as kinky as she looks bounce

I just finished the mission on the derelict Reaper. Collecting the IFF or whatever. Awesome. Those bastarding Scions drive me nuts though!

Well, I finally finished the first Mass Effect yesterday after my previous two attempts were jeopardised (selling Xbox, losing save data). Brilliant game, hope some of the graphical glitches have been sorted out in the new one. May get playing later!

Just finished this... my God it's good. Best game of this gen, I'm practically speechless. Spoilers in white below:

Only lost Garrus which I was really upset about. Gonna go back and save him though. Didn't get it on with anyone, was a female and I wanted to go all Lesbian with Tali. I think I love her.

I started a new game with my import of my male Shepard, went with Infiltrator, and the clocking device is brilliant. Want to do it the Paragon way with him because I went the Renegade path with a male Shepard last time.

Then I started a new one with a female because I screwed up the ending with my previous one. Choose to be an Engineer which is great for all the mechs you come across.

Also started another new game with another female so I could do the Renegade path with her, went as a Vanguard, which doesn't seem so great, but I guess after some more leveling up the super charge and shotgun combo will be unstoppable.

Need to do one of those playthroughs on Insanity as well, and I'm going to choose different crew members to romance with. I just want to leave a lot of different paths ready for Mass Effect 3.

May also go through the first game again just for the hell of it.

I just thought - why is it that Cerberus can bring Shepard back from dead after he/she's been a decaying body for 2 years, but they can't cure Joker from his brittle bones disease?

That makes me curious that if you everyone dies in ME2, apart from Joker, then they will cure him and he will become the ultimate bad ass and take on the Collectors himself!

Anyway, started a new game on the first game. I did miss the depth of the skill system, but it's amazing how much more solid the combat is now in ME2. I wish they hadn't changed the HUD so much as well, but overall the sequel is so much faster paced and epic. Mass Effect 2 is definitely 'The Empire Strikes Back' of the trilogy, I just wonder if that means we'll have little furry animals in ME3 helping us take down the Collectors. lol

Finished it on Tuesday. Playtime was 30 hours. Definitely worth it though.

MINOR SPOILERS

Suede how did you manage to get all your crew to survive? I lost Legion, but that was when the Normandy was actually going in to land on the Collector base and the engineering deck got blown to shit. Everyone else survived though. I don't think I'd be able to play it through on insanity, some bits are really tough even on normal. I might play it through to pick up what other achievements I'm missing...the warp, overload and incinerate ones are pretty irritating.

You have to have all the main upgrades to the ship before going through the Relay.

I think that's Garrus's (Thanix Cannon), Tali's (Shield) and Jacob's (Hull Armour) Normandy Upgrades, and of course do everybody's Loyalty Missions.

Some people have also been saying that you need to upgrade certain peoples weapons and equipment. I'm not sure if that really matters, though.

Jack will die, mon.

I have no idea why anyone would pick anyone else but Tali or Legion for the Tech part. I mean, it tells you, "pick a tech specialist', and after that it Miranda says she will lead one of the teams. She basically just told you who to pick.

After that it gets a little more complicated with who to send back to the Normandy with the crew, I always pick Garrus for that part, and then Jacob or Miranda to lead the other team.

It's then pretty obvious who to pick to do the bio-shield. Either Samara or Jack.

After that I don't think it matter who you choose on to be on your team, as long as everyone is loyal.

Anyway, I loaded up one of my saves just at the end so I can try it over and over again. This time Mordin died near the end, while he was defending with the rest of the crew, while I was fighting the boss. What a load of pish. I swear it's random sometimes, or either a glitch.

SPOILERS

It must have been the fact that the Normandy was not fully upgraded when I went through the relay...Poor little Legion Sad He reminded me of a violent Wall E.

I picked Tali to go through the tube.

Garrus to lead the second group in all occasions. I also did not send anyone back to help the Normandy crew cos I was an evil bastard. The crew were killed, but my squad survived...on that note, when Kelly was processed into that paste/gunk to feed the Reaper, it looked painful as hell.

I took Jack and Thane along with me everywhere (both were loyal, and were my two favorite squad members for their capabilities and personalities), and Samara to do the biotic field.

Miranda or Zaeed were not loyal when I went through the Omega 4 Relay. Neither of them got torn to bits by the Collector's. So obviously they don't have to be loyal to survive...

In the argument between Jack and Miranda, I sided with Jack cos Miranda seemed like a bitch throughout, even though I was on the verge of bedding her at the time. Ended up with Tali, the kinky robo-slag.

That method worked for me, so if everyone is loyal and your Normandy is fully upgraded, you should be good to get the achievement I guess.

Then what's the fucking point?! Fuck this game!

1/10

80 reviews are now up on Metacritic, and one of them isn't a 9 or a 10! OMFG! GameCrtitics will pay!

Players who can look past the lack of drive, annoying decisions, and a general stripped-down, dumbed-down feeling can (thankfully) still look forward to some truly spectacular moments and unforgettable action before credits roll.

7.5

Here's the link to his review:

http://www.gamecritics.com/brad-gallaway/mass-effect-2-review

While some of the things he says is true, I think he's just a like a few other people out there who are butthurt over losing the depth of the RPG elements, that they've ended up overreacting a bit. While the missions do feel quite linear in design, the combat makes up for it. He goes on about lack of drive to play, but with the first game the missions themselves were really boring and drawn-out.

By leaving behind the scattered "fetch this person" formula and getting back to saving the galaxy, everything kicks into feverishly high gear

I don't understand what he means, the game still has pretty big main plotlines in between it all.

WTF Do people really want to have sex with grotesque alien crewmates?

Uh, ME! I wanna fuck Tali and Liara all night long.

Sorry for the double post, but originally earning their loyalty unlocks a new technique right? Like earning Thane's loyalty enables the shredder ammo etc...

Yeah, but even then it's doing the whole mission for something that he won't ever use. lol

Those pictures are funny, I like how that they worked more on the facial animation this time, but the smile Shepard does is funneh.

Also, I always loved how the aliens look graphically pretty amazing, but the humans look like their made out of clay or something.

Lol at the pictures...I created my own weathered Shepard, so that handsome devil is unfamiliar. My guys smile looked better though Cool

Doubt I'll start playing it again yet. Think I'll eave it aside for now and work through Bioshock 2, Dante's Inferno, Splinter Cell etc...
