Yes!! Im more excited about this than i havea right to be. I started again about 5 times, and played it slightly different each time. I never finished it though, im thinking about playing it through to the end before i start the second...

Re: Mass Effect 2
Completed it 5 times myself. Went back to it and made sure my character was prepped and ready for the transfer. Fuck YEAH.
Only shame is that I should be writing a new script round about then

Re: Mass Effect 2
Got Mass Effect 1 on its way just because I need a time consuming RPG type game and a first hand copy is a tenner nowadays. If it's amazing like some of you are claiming then I may very well get the sequel.
Re: Mass Effect 2
Gonna grab it off Steam I think. The stuttering on the 360 version of the first one was so annoying. Plus I heard it has a better interface on PC.
As long as it has more Citadel type areas than the first one i'll be happy.

Re: Mass Effect 2
OXM score is on Meatacritic:
"Mass Effect 2 overcomes its few gameplay weaknesses with a fantastic weave of dynamic combat, lavish presentation, and engaging character and weapon customization. But for all the myriad improvements that make Mass Effect 2's visuals so appealing and its combat so exhilarating, it's ultimately the way it moves us that makes it so memorable."
9.5
gamesTM has given it a 10.
Yeah, the Citadel was the only interesting place, everything else was pretty much the boring grey, brown planets. By the looks of it, though, there seems to be a city in ME2. The other things I complained about seem to be remedied now, too. I guess Bioware have been listening well to feedback on the first game.
Although, if I understood it properly; I don't like that you won't be able to install the game because of it spanning over 2 discs. Unlucky for console gamers.

You can install multi-disc games, you just still need to swap out all the time

Re: Mass Effect 2
Confirmation has come down from Christ Priestly of BioWare on how many discs Mass Effect 2 will be. First off, the game will come on 2 DVDs for both the PC and 360 version. The PC version is the standard install both and play with one DVD in the drive. The 360 has a disc swap that occurs at a carefully planned part of the game. If you think you could install both discs and just use one, well you can't. You're going to have to swap discs on the 360.
Seeing as there's an option to install on the 360, I wonder why BioWare didn't make ths as an option. Disc swapping is a minor annoyance in my view but it's not like the 360 doesn't have a way to let you bypass this should you have enough hard drive space. So, if you were wondering now you have the answers.
Oh, why does the game need 2 discs? As Chris says, "Because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc." I salute you Mr. Priestly.

Ohh, see i didnt even think about just playing it on the 1 disc, i was thinking more to get rid of the loading times and terrible stuttering. But oh wells.
Also, Chris Priestly sounds awesome.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Oh, yeah, I better point out that it's not that I can't be bothered to get up and swap the discs (I love that, it's nostalgic), it's that the 360 is so noisy when spinning them, especially when running something as memory heavy as an RPG, and like you said Dangly; it helps with load times and all that jazz too.

Wow, this game is getting some hype. When I get my new graphics card installed I'll make a proper go of the first one.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Most of these reviews up so far, are from the same magazines and sites that gave the first game 9s and 10s. I mean Dan Howdle gave the first game a 10 when he worked for X360.
My heart would probably give the first game a 9 because the characters and story stay with me, but there are some really boring missions to go through, it's technically a bit rough and the combat isn't the best. My head would give around around the 7-8 mark.
Like I keep saying, I can see ME2 looks like a huge improvement. I'm honestly weeing myself with excitment for this Friday (hopefully Thursday). If I end up disappointed then I might just take up another hobby.

I love how excited Christina gets about tactics: "It's an incredibly tactical biotic power," "Vanguard class is extremely tactical" etc.
I'll go infiltrator, most likely. I always go that sort of guy.

I normally go Soldier; no nonsense, just shoot everything in sight, and you get heavy armour.
Adept is my second favourite, though.
I've ordered the Collector's Edition, but I've heard that it will be a delayed a week in the EU. Not heard if it will affect the UK yet, but if mine is delayed, I may just have to do something drastic.
