Re: Now Playing...
MGS is tier 2? Heavenly Sword tier 1?!

Re: Now Playing...
All in my humble opinion, kids.
MGS4 was amazing for the first half and a load of histrionic bullshit for the second, Heavenly Sword was short but sweet and a much stronger cinematic experience to boot.
Flower I found a bit up its own arse and much more gamey than it liked to pretend, though still very visually appealing and with fulfilling controls. Noby Noby Boy was play for play's sake, a wonderful toy that you could chew on for ten minutes then move on satisfied.

Re: Now Playing...
I loved MGS4 but then I love everything to do with MGS lol. I agree that Heavenly Sword was short and sweet and was amazingly cinematic. The story and character was fantastic.
I just enjoyed Flower for what it was but I got bored of Noby Noby Boy fast. It deserves praise for being very original and completely different from everything else but in terms of gameplay it got boring fast. Like you said though "All in my humble opinion, kids."

Re: Now Playing...
Personally I hated MGS4, I've played 2 and 3 as well and thought they had alot more game play in it than MGS4

Killzone is...ok. Nothing console defining like some people think ¬¬
Overall, not that impressed with game back catalogue, though looking at your reccomendations,a nd the release lists that should soon be sorted out. Im very very impressed with the machine though, great piece of tech.

Spent most of last night playing Tower of Heaven and Osmos. I seriously recommend giving Tower a download, it's free, small and could run on a digital watch. Osmos is probably the world's premier absorb-'em-up, but whether that's good or bad hinges entirely on the individual's stance to the genre (if it even is a genre).
Just bought Stranglehold for £6. It has a preposterously large install of 12+ gig, so I'll have to delete it afterwards because free space is dwindling on my 400 gig partition if you can believe that.

That's a bargain, Stranglehold has a pretty short but sweet campaign. It's great fun.

Yep, a great few hours on entertainment.

Re: Now Playing...
Yeah, I think if I can squeeze six hours of six out of ten blasting from six pounds that's a pretty sweet deal.
I remember reading about it in OPS2 and getting excited, and the demo came out just after I got Xbox Live, which in turn means I'd just joined the X360 forums.

Re: Now Playing...
Been playing the Blueberry Garden demo and it's great, really weird and wonderful. I'll probably get the full game tomorrow.
Re: Now Playing...
It's good to see more people supporting Svedang, great game.
Stranglehold seems to have trouble saving, but I'll try moving My Documents back to drive C or maybe just play through the entire thing in one sitting next week.
Downloading Mass Effect, nabbed it for a tenner on the EA store, even if they've got shitty rules designed to rip me off.

Re: Now Playing...
I gave Defense Grid: The Awakening after reading your review gdf and enjoyed it quite a bit, but by the time I finished the last demo level I'd had my fill of it. Warcraft does Tower Defense so much more smoothly, even if it lacks the visuals and story of this title.

Re: Now Playing...
I never reviewed Defense Grid. You may have confused me with James Frazer
Warcraft III is amazing though, I agree wholeheartedly. I hope the franchise isn't just mummorpugger territory from now on, though a Warcraft MMORTS would eat my life if done correctly.
About an hour into Mass Effect. I can feel it's going to be something pretty special, but I've heard that some missions ruin it badly a bit further in.

Pretty much everything up until you leave the Citadel is excellent, from then on it becomes to much shooter not enough rpg imo, still good though.

Yup that's when I stopped playing. Also the combat sucks a big fat cocksiclemaze wrote:gdf wrote:About an hour into Mass Effect. I can feel it's going to be something pretty special, but I've heard that some missions ruin it badly a bit further in.

Don't listen to them, Mass Effect is solid gold throughout the entire game.

Re: Now Playing...
I'm surprised by how solid the combat is for an RPG actually. Don't mind if it's combined well with the stats'n'chatter side.
I'll see for myself I suppose, look forward to playing more. It looks great as well, very slickly presented and well optimised for PC, smooth as anything at full 1400x900 with the admittedly limited options cranked up to the max.

Played a wee bit more today and I love the fiction. BioWare constructed a great universe right there.

Sweet, just got me some 500 sexy Wii points for spendin' from Club Nintendo. Redeemed my stars last month and forgot until now, but I'm 100 points shy of Bit.Trip.Beat
