Or, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", "The Girl Who Played With Fire" and "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets Nest".

Now, im hoping some of you will be aware of my love for the original Swedish language film, released last year and on DVD recently, indeed i hope some of you will even have seen it. If so, then you may be aware it concerns the hunt for an explanation as to why a 16 year old girl dissappeared in the 60's.

It stars Noomi Rapace...

The Millenium Trilogy, by Stieg Larsson. Lisbet11

as Lisbeth Salander, a cyberpunk and Expert Hacker who helps with the investigation. You may not realize that this is a triology. You may also not realize, that it is single handedly the greatest crime trilogy i have ever read, in terms of scope, psycological profiles, governmental issues, frankly disgusting crimes, a wonderful "Few Good Men" court room scene and ultimately, an ending that is just more perfect than any series i have yet been aware of (and that includes Harry Potter!).

But basically, i want to share this with you, as it is quite simply just blown my mind.

And if this frankly glowing review (it was supposed to be anyways) doesnt get you all wet, then maybe if i share the infomation that "Seven", "Fight Club" and "Zodiac" directo David "most fucking brilliant director in Hollywood" Fincher is directing the film. And its a trilogy. David Fincher, man of the best serial killer film produced in Hollywood since Silence of the Lambs (and thats Seven OR Zodiac) is going to be making films about Spy's, corporate espionage, serial killers, punks, S&M, and the internet. Its going to blow people's fucking minds. Anyone want a summer read? Open The Grirl With A Dragon Tattoo, and behold the majesty.

The first film is definitively superior to Zodiac, which was pretty mediocre.

And what the FUCK is David Fincher doing remaking the Millenium trilogy? MOTHERFUCKER. It's the one decent thing to come out in Scandinavia for ages and they're remaking it too? Wasn't raping Let The Right One In enough? Noomi Rapace is a brilliant actress, I doubt Fincher's going to find anyone who captures Lisbeth Salanders essence as well as her.

I've read all three books, and watched all the films in the cinema a few years ago. About time you Brits got some of the good stuff.

Agreed Seany! It wasnt about the murders, it was about the obsessives who chased him, and it was brilliant.

And im with you Major, shocking it's being remade, but gotta be honest, at least its Fincher and not some Hollywood pawn, ey?

Zodiac is just another remake of Moby Dick to be honest lol.

Fincher can be good (Se7en, Fight Club), but he can also be pretty dire (Panic Room) and long winded (Curious Case). And let's be honest, who wants to see the Social Network?

I wasn't really aware who Fincher was until I googled him a minute ago.

Turns out he's the same fucker who killed Newt. Fuck him.

Fight Club is still cool.

If it weren't for Fight Club, he would probably still be knowing as that guy who ruined the Alien franchise.

Zodiac is on my to watch list, so is Benjamin Button. I like Se7en, but decided it was overrated on my second watch. I like his style, but it's obvious without Fight Club he wouldn't have such a strong standing.

Some news on this:

Hollywood actress Robin Wright is reportedly set to star alongside Daniel Craig and Stellan Skarsgard in a new version of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'.

The actress, whose divorce from Sean Penn has been finalised, is reportedly in negotiations to join the project as Erika Berger, the friend and occasional lover of Daniel Craig's character Mikael Blomkvist, reports hollywoodnews.com.

If she signs up for the role, the actress will also appear alongside Stellan Skarsgard, who has had a 'concrete offer' to portray Martin Vanger in the English-language remake of the drama to be helmed by David Fincher.

haven't seen the movie because I want to read the book and haven't. Also, Fincher is very over rated from what i've seen... Alien 3 was shit, Fight Club was wicked (purely because the source material as possibly one of the greatest pieces of fiction in the last 30 years), Panic room was awful, I havn't seen Zodiac, but I hate him for the fact that I ordered it used and new on Amazon and got THIS piece of shit instead (yes, I blame him not the seller lulz...) and I've not seen Benjamin Button because I refuse to sit through any 3 hour film that comes from a concept that Karl Pilkinton thought up (I know its based off a 1920s novel...)

In Short, Fuck You Fincher, even if I do kinda want to see social network...

Yeah, based on the works I've seen, there really isn't anything remarkable about this guy. Don't know why you guys overrate him so much.

Seven was just a gory spectacle. Fight Club was good, but not 5 stars good.
I think If I rewatched it I probably wouldn't like it as much as I did when I was a hormonal teenager.

I said Fight Club and Zodiac are great, not Fincher himself. Benjamin Button was okay(ish) but fuck sitting through all 3 hours of it again.
Edit: Sevens good as well

Dudes.

Fight Club and Zodiac are great, i think Seven isreally super, and im sorry but the source material is not the only bit that makes these films great.

Benjamin Button is only okayish, but even still, the direction is pretty damned good. Of all the american film-makers working today, there are only about 3 or 4 who i'd go and see a movie because it's them. Fincher, Tarantino, Spielberg are amongst them. Frankly, these directors excite me for reasons i perhaps cannot explain, perhaps because i know what they are able to do, or perhaps it's love, and who can explain love?

Lol, so are you guys seriously telling me you arent interested in his interpretation of Dragon Tattoo?

I wish he'd come up with something fresh instead of re-hashing something done very recently and pretty well.

I don't know if there are really any american film-makers left who have my love. Tarantino, Fincher and Spielberg haven't delivered much in recent years. And their CV's are spotty at best. Aronofsky is one of the few american directors I know off who's every film I really like.

One film American director I've loved every work of (yes, even Fantastic Mr. Fox) is Wes Anderson. Frank Darabont (green mile, shawshank) isn't a bad director either, he just is few and far between with his films... Can't wait to see his take on Fahrenheit 451...

My mate (who some of you probably remember as the Marmite man that was 'goz' in one of his previous lives) is always raving about this trilogy so I may grab the books soon. I unknowingly bought the first one as a gift some years back for my stepmum so I may see if she's still got it lying around.

As for Zodiac, I really like it.
