Re: So who did you vote for?
I really dont think the British public are as concerned as they should be about the possibility of a conservative government (even a minority one). Really, i think the idea of leaving the country is a good one, a kind of "flee to the hills" position which really seems quite sensible. Like if fucking Darth Vader is coming over the hill with his red glowy sword and all we've got to defend ourselves with is a weak, balding trade union member. Its scary.

Labour.
And because I live in Scotland, I get to be self-righteous.

You look out for yourself
My Dad's a business owner, my mum works for a small business. I agree with most of their policies and disagree with the key ones for both other main parties. It's my own choice, its my own beliefs.

Re: So who did you vote for?
Gears has a point, plenty of voters who opt to the left-of-centre are as self-interested as those who vote conservative (with a small C), and get undue credit for looking out for the little guy. I'm too young to vote, but when looking at party policy I spent a lot of time studying alcohol tax - most people care about themselves first and foremost.

Re: So who did you vote for?
Yeah, first and foremost. My granda voted conservative, as indeed he runs his own business and agree's with certain area's of policy.
Fair play.
However, im from Newcastle, im working class and a student. I want to be a teacher. Essentially, the conservatives are shitting on all these aspects of my life. AND i just finished a research project upon the works of Ken Loach, which involved a very focused look at Thatcherite era conservative policies. It was fucking horrifying.

When do things actually start happening, mon? I want everybody to be happy, crime to vanish, everybody to life forever, no tax, wars to finish, everybody in Britian to be able to recite the alphabet.
