Re: Super Street Fighter IV
Been wanting to get SFIV for a fair few months now but thought I might as well wait for the brand new very reasonably priced edition with all the bells and whistles.
Re: Super Street Fighter IV
I really can't wait for it. I liked SFIV, the fighting system was there, but it had something missing, and I think that was a good choice of characters; SSFIV has a whole range of awesome characters, add that with improved moves and faster gameplay and it's looking all kinds of good.
Really should be more people looking forward to it, especially when you can get it at about £22 on release.

I'm gonna go for it too. Even though I'm kinda bored of beat-em-ups, I really like the look of this. Especially that new Turkish character who oils himself up.

Sweet as. Getting this today. As well as a fancy Street Fighter specific controller cos the 360's D-Pad is so awful. Do you just use the normal controller suede?

way to waste money on something that should have been an 800MS point add on.

Re: Super Street Fighter IV
I was joking about the 10, by the way. Most of the new characters are brilliant, I love Dudley. What really frustrates me is to get the most out of it is to play it online, but the people online are either experts, or constantly spam the same move. There's Blanka with his electric thingy, Zangief with his really annoying throws and shit, and some guy kept doing the same air kick as Ryu which I just couldn't block. It's a shame because it can be a lot of fun.
I think it would be a lot better if there were no online achievements.
Yeah, just the normal control, I work with it really well, I just find it's terrible if you want to bust out the really in-depth combos, though, which is obvious.
I don't see where it's £30, Ipso? Most places it's £25 or under, someone I know found it for £15. And there is no way this could have been DLC, there's a lot of extra stuff, including changes with the online mode, and the design of it all has been slightly changed.

The gamestation Add in the paper this morning said £29.99... just checked their site and its only £25. And if you can fundamentally release a new game as DLC for dragon age origin, you can release tweaks imho...

Re: Super Street Fighter IV
This is awesome. It's more than just a few additional characters bomby. New online modes, new ultras etc too. It's €30 here, which is the equivalent of about £25-£26 I think? It's fucking awesome though so I'd definitely pay it. Hakan is unbelievably fun to use. I'm terrible at it online in fairness, because everyone else is amazing. Think I've had 18 matches and won 2 lol. Getting more used to it now though, and I'm constantly banging out the ultra combos which are awesome.
I also got the MadCatz fighter pad or whatever, which makes life a lot easier since I got so frustrated using the standard 360 controller in SFIV.

Re: Super Street Fighter IV
I played online for ages yesterday, I managed to level up and win 3 matches in a row, I've definitely improved. I play as Dudley mostly, managed to get really good with him now. It's like a completely different game online, so addictive. I've noticed that the French are jammy bastards - I've come across a few now and all of them have just used cheap tactics. Just like with Ryu, this guy used Akuma and did the same jump kick and low kick, it was so fucking shit!
I think the problem people have with Street Fighter, is that it's not like most fighting games where you can just spam buttons and pull off awesome combos, you have to practise a lot to get the most out of it, and I know most would rather not do that. I probably would rather stick something like Dead or Alive in for a quick fighting fix, but with Street Fighter, once you get good at it, it's far more satisfying to play, and I can play it for hours on end when I get into a groove.

Re: Super Street Fighter IV
Yeah, there is a big difference in price. There is also an even bigger difference in value for money. It adds 10 new characters for example, as opposed to the one you get with the Star Wars DLC.bomby wrote:there is a difference between £3 and £30

Not to mention the fact that the entire game itself has been reworked.
Most sensible people wouldn't pay 30 quid for it anyway. They would trade in vanilla SF against it.
