Dragon Age: Origins

Post by Kaptain Kaviar on Tue Sep 01, 2009 7:39 pm

Anyone hear any hype on this? Only just heard of it, a new Bioware RPG coming very soon. Sounds exciting, someone care to fill me in?

sounds like oblivion to me, you know pick a character, his race, his background, mythical creatures, save the world. looks interesting. out in 2010, some very good RPG's coming out next year.

I think its meant to be more like Neverwinter Nights than Mass Effect, otherwise I don't know much. It's Boware anyway, so it should be good.

It's the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate on PC, and on consoles (for those mongoloid peasants) it'll be somewhere between that and Mass Effect. Less tactics and control, shifted perspective, more direct control etc.

I just ordered this for like 16, should be here later next week. I've heard really good things from you lot and some others, so I'm expecting something awesome.

It is funny that this thread never took off though.

Funny that. Discussed somewhere else I think. It's an awesome game though. Brilliant characters and story and has got a KOTOR vibe to it. Bioware is awesome.

the expansions are pretty good too.

Return to ostagar was disapointing though.

I'm kinda thinking about buying this again...I really couldn't get my head round the combat though. I know that if I buy it again, I'll think its great for about 2 hours and then get bored again. I also just started my second playthrough of ME2...

I think I'm about 8 hours in. I really like the battle system and the whole feel of the game; it's so chilled and old school.

when I started playing it, it felt so dated... the graphics aren't the best and there are so many annoying aspects with the sprites (such as the mouths moving and the speech following moments later when the characters mouth is shut, textures of characters with holes in etc.)
but I really enjoy the story, even if my party are retarded and the difficulty level spikes like a mother fucker...

I won't lie, I drew the line when I got killed at the same part 3 or 4 times in a row. Then had to reload to at least 15 minutes before the part where I kept dying. It was the icing on the cake for me. A cake of shit, of course. I'm just so unsure of it. Sometimes I'm on the fence with this, and other times I'm so against this game that the thought of playing it again makes me feel sick. I wish I could love it, but it has no place in my heart.

You guys are whack, you must be playing a totally different game to me. I haven't noticed any bad lip sync, Ipso, and I really couldn't give a crap about the graphics. I don't see how the party are retarded, I really like the characters.

So, gtfo.

unless your talking to leliana all the time with her dodgy religious crap, how can you insult the party? alister can be funny at times, sten is a fucking legend, disagree and he will steal your cookies, and ohgren is funny as fuck, in my opinion, the dragon age party beats the mass effect party.

Shale and Alistair coupled with Morrigan is awesome. I love all those guys. A lot.

The ME2 party is just a group of assholes to be honest.

Woah, woah, woah, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves here.

Oh, yeah, the first time I met Morrigan; the camera caused a glitch on her outfit and I saw her nipples, I was like wtf, and what's up with all the cameltoe? lol

Oh don't get me wrong, I love the characters, I just mean their AI really annoys me... And I think the bad lip syncing is possibly a sign that my xbox is dying, because it's very noticeable my end... I'll try and record it monday

But let's be honest, they are. None of them are terribly sympathetic or likeable. I didn't have any I really truly cared about.

I love Morrigan.
