Getting a proper forum Empty Getting a proper forum

Post by Seany C Thu Aug 27, 2009 1:45 pm

Let's upgrade up and out of this shitty advertisement laden cess pit (Not that I can see any of the advertising when I'm logged in).
I don't have any clue what I'm doing though so if you are or know of any web geeks willing to talk me through how to buy and set up a forum then go for it. Wasn't miss ashley a web designer? Shame I burned that bridge down with a healthy dousing of haterade to extinguish the embers. I was thinking the other day we should invite back Loud and his crew, I misses them, are they still alive? Anyway, lets make this happen as long as I don't have to learn anything or do much.

Maybe we can get Alex to help out. He's a master of the internet.
I know because he told us a lot.

theinterhood.asia only $19.99!

I'd recommend buying a domain using Dreamhost. Their back end has a load of "one click installers" that load on tech like Wordpress, Joomla or PHPBB for you with, well, one fucking click. Very little hassle.

You can't do much with this design other than add new templates, to alter pretty much anything we need to buy our own domain and install some forum tools. If we all chip in it'll cost next to nothing.

I mean literally no more than a few pounds each.

All you have to do is buy a suitable domain (theinterhood.com is taken), get a decent host and install some tools.

Adverts are £1 a month to remove. I'd rather get a proper forum but this is always a much cheaper alternative.

You can choose below the additional time during which ads will be disabled for your members

Add 1 month(s) : 100 Credits
Add 2 month(s) : 200 Credits
Add 3 month(s) : 300 Credits
Add 6 month(s) : 500 Credits
Add 12 month(s) : 1000 Credits

Edit: Maybe in theinterhood3.0 we could have a 'Donators Dungeon', a forum only available to people who have donated at least £1.00, and donators get a special status to show how special they are. How much would this all cost roughly?

I use a forum where you can donate a £1 via paypal for a year and if you do it gives you storage for photos and you can edit your little forum thing under your name...you know the "newbie, regular, pro poster" etc
