MacBook Pro Empty MacBook Pro

Anyone on here use a MacBook? I'm looking at buying one, and thinking of getting a second hand one off Ebay or somewhere to save some funds.

Any advice on what prices would be good, what models are preferable etc?

I was looking at one for 410, but found out it was bought in 2006. Would this make a significant difference?

I've got a 15 inch MacBook Pro, it's awesome. I got the middle range one out of the three options available at the moment (With the top two having the same graphics card and other features I didn't feel the extra cost for the top of the range was worth it). Anyway heres the overview for mine:

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro5,3
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT
VRAM (Total): 256 MB
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Bus Speed: 1.07 GHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP53.00AC.B03
SMC Version (system): 1.48f2
Serial Number (system): W89394PN642
Hardware UUID: 72BD506C-1DA5-590A-AE04-C17FE6BE1174
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled

As for the old model I'm sure if you had a search you could find the spec for that too. What would you be using it for anyway?

I'd be using it for college work mainly. Photoshop, FinalCut, Pro Tools etc...

Thanks for the help!

Have 27" iMacs in college, they're lovely but not exactly convenient for transport! And I don't wanna set one up at home cos then my family will store all their stuff on it. The computer that I'm currently using takes about 40 minutes to open Photoshop CS2. It's a disgrace, really.

ive had a 17" Macbook pro for just over a year. It's died twice in 3 weeks to the extent that when I get it back, it's pretty much going to be a new machine inside... Invest in apple care. Trust me, you're going to need it.
