Re: Forum Feedback/Site Discussion
Opinions on the rep system? We'll try it for a few days but if I receive more negative feedback than good we'll ditch it. you can also 'thank' one post in any topics you create, preferably the one that was most useful to you which then becomes highlighted and awards more rep than a +
Edit: And if the rep system stays then major gets paid a salary of 10 rep per month for his moderating service in the teahouse

Re: Forum Feedback/Site Discussion
I think rep is good, better than a post count anyway. Having said that, on the only other forum I've spent any serious amount of time on (The X360 forum, unnecessary clarification fans) I guess I created my own rep system far more naturally than a properly enforced one - if I was rushed for time I'd just automatically focus in on certain forum-goers on a topic to get an idea of what was going on from trusted sources.
So, ehhh.... I'm on the fence.

Re: Forum Feedback/Site Discussion
Well, whether it stays is up for discussion. It promotes better posting and such and keeps stat whores happy as they try to become #1 rep on the forum and shit but do we really need it and can we trust people to use it correctly?
I too am on the fence.

Re: Forum Feedback/Site Discussion
By the way I've made it so that in the teahouse a + = 2 a - = -2 and a thanks = 5
This means stupidity is punished more severely and compliance is rewarded greater.

You can't see them when you're in minus rep. And you have -6 apparently.

I don't like it there anyway. It intrudes on posts.

Re: Forum Feedback/Site Discussion
Heads up, I changed the humour bit on our profiles to About me
When I made this forum I categorized it under comedy so that was the default and I can't get rid of it, only change the name, so now its that.

Re: Forum Feedback/Site Discussion
Actually I was about to launch into spiel about how my humour has changed and evolved recently, receding from the sarcastic putdowns bootlegged wholesale from Family Guy and Frasier to a more self-deprecating, ironic style.
Not going to bother now.
