Film club?
This idea was spawned in another thread a couple of days ago but people may have forgotten.
I put this here so people are more inclined to be reasonable.

Re: Film club?
September 12th: District 9 Film Club Discussion begins, I believe.
I was going to make a thread on the 10th or 11th for the discussion to happen in and to remind people to see it by that date. It comes out today in Britain, so go see it some time in the next week if you're interested and be sure to check in next Saturday. If possible, i'd plead for you to keep reviews and discussions brief so we don't run out of things to discuss in the club. Don't take this as an order, more an overprotective air over my baby. I'd just like to see her live at least a little longer than most of our ideas for the forum.
I was thinking of putting myself forward as a kind of unofficial club chairman, just to organise what films should be in the club, when discussions would take place, that kind of thing (all open to discussion of course; we shall be a glorious democracy). My chairmanship is up for discussion, and I'd be happy to concede to someone if we agree they'd be more suitable. Consider me a self-appointed acting leader for now.

Re: Film club?
I reckon you'll do fine mcgugan. But I'd recommend you set up a poll so we can vote on the next film to be chosen by the film club.

Re: Film club?
total agreement on the poll. A film club where only half the members are interested in the film is no fun.

McGugan is that Emily (?) or whatever from Skins in your avatar? She looks amazing.
And on topic, is the District 9 discussion taking place here in the forum?

Re: Film club?
It was my Grandad's birthday today and I was gonna go today. I told my mates that I couldn't go but they went anyway so I doubt I'll see this in the cinema unless it's so amazing that they want to go again

That sounds like a plan tbh, a very good plan. I'm gonna need to make sure my EMA has went through first though. If she says no I could always try to convince that she's getting to see a film for nothing and see might as well go lol.
Re: Film club?
Anyway, to the relationship thread for this! Keep the Teahouse clean, and formal
Im excited to see District 9, are all the FC discussions going to be on new film?
Oh Oh!! Film Club, should have rules like, "We Will Not talk about Film Club(outside of the teashouse

Re: Film club?
I'm gonna field suggestions for whatever films we want to discuss.
As for the film club manifesto, I'm working on it right now. Not so much rules, just guidelines as to how films are selected, where it's discussed, that kind of thing.

Don't be creepy about it.
I hope this is a Gears situation where we spur him on to ask the girl out and he ends up getting sucked off a week later

Re: Film club?
Dingo my recommendation is not to ask her to District 9 with you. Ask her to The Time Traveller's Wife or 500 Days of Summer. Its not easy, but it works....
As for the film, I will more than likely be going tonight or tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.
