Re: Dragon Age: Origins
The characters did seem good in Dragon Age to be fair, but I liked Thane, Garrus, and I had a soft spot for Jacob. The new character from the DLC (the master thief - can't remember her name) is also awesome, and I thought Jack was pretty bad ass. To be honest, Miranda is the only ME character I didn't like.

I didn't like Jacob, Jack, Samara, Zaeed, Mordin (Doesn't help that his name translates to YOUR MOM in Norwegian, no joke), Tali (Most boring char in ME returns, whopee). Thane was a walking cliche while Garrus and Legion were pretty decent.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
I've been playing for about 28 hours now; it's amazing - it really is.
As for tips. Take the time to learn how the crafting working - particularly how to make health potions - will come in very helpful

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Lets see
warrior: generally for getting stuck in, simple hack and slash, shield and sword for good endurance, decent attack.
two handed sword: takes more damage from hits, slower attack but has better damage against heavier targets, be warned, always try and stick your best armour on a two handed warrior, it will be worth it.
rogue, best for quick attacks and for extra XP, being twin handed sword rogue i would strongly recommend, all the extra locks you can pick will help you level up quicker, as well as making it easier to make money from locked chests, being a rogue can be good for fighting on the sidelines, hitting multiple enemies, just try to get your dexterity to around 36 to make every twin sword ability available when you level up that far, 22 cunning so you can pick every lock, and around 34 strongth so you can hold decent weapons.
mage. jamie this is probably the class i would recommend the most for you, basically its the most powerfull if used correctly, keep your mages back while the warriors do the work, and they can win battle relativly easy, while they dont do as much damage as warriors or rogue's, they have the most variety in abilities to decide whoch works better. i would recommend these spells and talents.
winters grasp
fireball
lightning
heal
these would probably serve you best early on, if you plan to play on casual fireball can destroy a large group of enemies, it does massive damage. get 27 magic and its yours.
and ill note that its good for you to get your persusion up early on, its good for getting extra equipment or extra rewards, and i would recommend the stealing skill, just have one opens up a big quest line that can you get you plenty of money.

The fight with the Archdemonis so fucking hard; can never get past the Darkspawn at half health.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Finished the Magi origin quest last night, which was good. I really wanna get sucked in by this. I'm finding it difficult too, even on casual.

spoilers:
use the balista's things around the map, you can get it onto 1hp with them and then just give it a normal hit, if you call in the army you can distact it while you lower its health.

Re: Dragon Age: Origins
Might try this game but I have a question. What's the difference between "Dragon Age Awakening" and "Dragon Age: Origins"?

Ahh, cheers for that Sean. Would anyone recommend shelling out some more notes for the expansion?
