Re: Football (lol).
Oh for crying out loud. The last game before a one of the most iportant tournaments the team wil ever play in. No one cared enough, basically, and nor should they. They couldnt risk getting injured, or being exhausted considering their very hectic examples for the next few days. Japan was a nothing game, for Capello to test fitness levels and basically mess around. It should have been hind closed doors, and means nothing about the World Cup (We lost both pre-1990 games).
As for Lampard, he has taken 27 odd penalties since World Cup qualifying begun and missed about 5, just a shame the last two came in a row as they did. He wil take the next one for England, and he will take the next one for Chelsea and i have almost no doubts he will score both.

i wouldnt be worrying, but you have to remember that for alot of players, this was a impress now or you dont go to africa game, and since quite a few of the players that underperformed are on that plane, you have to worry, as well as the fact that problems such as slow starts that have been a problem for a while showed up again.
and the lampard penalty was just lazy, let rooney or gerrard take them.
one penalty is all it takes, ask gareth southgate.

Anyone can miss a penalty, dude. Shearer missed some, Henry missed some, van Nistelrooy missed some. I'd trust Lampard to score in the WC.
Dangly is right about the Japan game, no one cares, the likes of Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard etc just don't want to get injured in games like that. When over half the team is phoning it in, it makes it pretty hard for the few guys trying to impress, what are they supposed to do? All they can do is show some effort, which Lennon, SWP and Joe Cole did imo.
Portugal drew 0-0 with Cape Verde Islands last week, i've never even heard of the place. Does that mean they'll suck in the World Cup? Nah.
Edit: Although I should add, I have little confidence in our team past the starting 11 regardless of friendly performances.
