Re: The Relationship Thread

Post by Seany C on Tue Sep 15, 2009 7:07 pm

If you take her back with open arms you're a mug. If you take her back on your terms you're slightly less of a mug. The harsh reality is that 99% of young people are too inexperienced in life to maintain a healthy relationship. The boys just want to fuck and the girls obtain their personal notion of what love is from EastEnders or a similar shittily scripted piece of fiction such as Step Up. The media offers young men and women alike a bullshit idea of what this ambiguous term 'love' is and when their life isn't like their favourite rom-com rather than work to improve the relationshiip they discard it like a used condom. You're just another victim of the media.

Fraser is right Callum. Why the fuck would you get back with someone who has screwed with your head in the build-up to breaking up, who now changes her mind a few hours later? Honestly man, this has happened before, you're a mug if you get back with her and you can do better.

Sean is also right about the media creating a false sense of what 'love' is.

I think everyone is being a tad harsh, but i don't think Gears should just take her back straight away either.
You needs to have a long talk with the lass, ask her wtf is going on and make it VERY clear that if she tries any funny shit again she will be dropped like a load of diroriah from an incontinent.

I'd say it has something to do with being the only one that involves you getting back with her as well. Let's be honest, forum advice rarely influences the choices of ones actions.

I have to agree with Sean, again.

Think about what you do next very carefully Callum, seriously. If you do get back together, at least get a fucking explanation.

Hasn't she done this to you once before? You need to draw a line for yourself and decide if she's worth this humiliation.

Nah before she told me she was getting bored, and that was probably what led up to this.

What does she expect of an ordinary relationship? Fantasy romantic escapades every other day? Picnic in the park while you play the guitar for her?

It's all about being able to appreciate each other even when things get boring.

Don't you find that insulting? She's 'bored' with the relationship. Your company and apparently devoted companionship was 'boring' to her? I say let her get bored with some other guy.

No she was getting bored with the relationship and was thinking being friends would be better. Oh well I'm not going out with her until she gives me a good reason

That's the spirit! It may be the very conservative option, but I was hardly expecting an out-of-the-blue cunt punt.

Im going to try and ignore this and ask the important question

Gears, are you actually bothered? I dont men to sound too harsh, but this girl has been a bit funny with you, and right now do you actually really really want to be with her? Not because you feel hurt that its over, and not because you're leaping at an easy opportunity for the inevitably great mak-up sex, but because you want to be with her? Have a think man, maybe take a week or two out of it, get some space and re-evaluate.
