Post by Black Suede on Mon Oct 11, 2010 6:44 pm

Developer: Dimps, Sonic Team
Publisher: Sega
Platforms: Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, WiiWare, iOS
Release Date: October 13 (PSN, XBLA) October 15 (WiiWare)

Sonic is back in 2D this Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been playing all the old ones in prepartion for this. Good stuff.

I'm still not sure on 100% sure if it will be any good, but the reviews so far have been really positive.

I replayed Sonic 1+2 and played 3+Knuckles for the first time in preparation on my Sega Mega Drive classics for PS3. I highly recommend that by the way, a lot of good games amongst the 50 in there and you can prolly get it for a tenner or something.

Yeah, I was looking at that and thought that I could save a lot of money if I just bought it instead of buying each game individually on XBLA. But then I reembered that they probably still have the slow 50hz PAL versions in the collection, and it's also nice to have them on the dashboard.

It's bad enough that I paid 15 for a collection of roms, but you're buying them individually? (though I did buy Gunstar Heroes)

Oh no, I just meant the Sonic collection. It would have been nice to have all those extra Mega Drive games along with the Sonic games for more of a bargain than just buying the Sonic games on XBLA.

Sonic 1 - 400 Points
Sonic 2 - 400 Points
Sonic 3 - 400 Points
Sonic & Knuckles - 260 Points

So, 1460 Points for 4 games = 12.51.

So, yeah, this isn't bad. It's not Sonic we've been waiting for, but it's still much better than most people could have hoped for. I wish his running animation wasn't so shit, though, and the physics are a bit awkward.

Although, I only played the trail that gives you a total of 1 Act!!

Will buy it at some point though. I might wait for them to announce how many episodes there will be too.

I played the trial, bit annoying they only give you one Act and I really dislike Sonics animations but I'll probably get this at some point, maybe tomorrow. But yeah I'd rather they had stuck to 2D than this 2.5D bullshit. It looks like bad 3D, not good 2D.

Oh yeah I've seen that, looks infinitely better than what Sega gave us, in fact the more I watch this the less appealing Sonic 4 is.

Is that the download for that fan made Sonic game? It looks good, I wish it was the one from the video I posted though.

It's the one from the really, really colourful looking fangame with the far too busy backgrounds.
It looks great but you might get a suger rush from playing it.
