Spartacus: Blood and Sand

Anyone else watched this? I torrented it and was tempted to wipe it off my hard drive after watching the first episode but I persisted and then suddenly this apparent trashy 300 rip-off of a show got good, really good. Shakespeare it ain't but by 3 episodes in it's fucking awesome. The style of the show was very off-putting at first but it grown on you very quickly, the blood almost mockingly gratuitous, we're no better than the audience at the arena it seems to say, we just want blood and suffering in unrealistic amounts. I'm not going to try and pass this off as an intellectual show, but it is engrossing, bloodier than an artery, entertaining and fresh. Also contains more sex and nudity in 13 epsidoes than the average marriage. The season finale is amazing and it's surprising to see what direction the show is going to go next. So yeah, good show, one of the best newcomers for sho. To those willing to try it, I'd say if you feel like turning it off by the time Spartacus has his first pit fight then go ahead because that's where shit got interesting for me. I guess because the episode before that is just Spartacus bitching and refusing to train and the one before that is the aforementioned sloppy pilot.

I'm getting around to watching this, maybe just to see Lucy Lawless's titties.

Although I think to truly appreciate her here you have to know how much of an evil posh totty cunt bitch spoiled brat she is in the show, which for some reason makes it 10 times sexier
