"Autumn Years" - by Iain Forbes
Hello everyone! Finally got round to finishing off my last proper film project, and seeing as you're all interested in the medium I thought I'd put the film up for anyone interested. Added subtitles and everything. Might be a bit slow to start off with, so give it some time to load.
It's a pretty slow paced naturalistic drama, so don't expect any explosions, only a look at some human relations. I'm pretty happy with the result, it's very close to my intended vision for the film.

aka. Før Snøen Faller (direct translation Before The Snow Falls)
About two months of work, some money for camera and lights and a considerable all-student crew. Fun times!
Edit: It takes an aaaage to load. You have to leave it open because for some reason it needs to buffer the whole film before playing.

I try not to read too much into view/comment ratios, it fucks with your perception of the topic. I for one was pretty excited to read your post but decided, given your warning, to wait 'til I was at a computer which isn't this old dinosaur.

Wow good job! I really liked it. It did take an age to load but very professional looking when it eventually started. Well done mate

I tried to load it up but it didn't do anything for so long I shut the tab. Downloading the HD version (right click\save link as), good job it's just sitting on the server as a thing with a file extension attached.
Looking forward to watching this, feedback soon.

Awesome work Iain. Perfectly suited to the short film form actually, the narrative arc was interesting and somewhat original, and it's the kind of thing you couldn't do with a longer film. Great camerawork as well

Thanks Fraser, nice to hear you liked the narrative. It's pretty much split the jury in half so to speak, not all my contemporary's like it that much, while it seems to resonate even more with older people. I knew I wasn't making the most accessible of shorts and deliberately decided to go for a slow pace to better emphasis the naturalistic aspects as well as enforce the feeling of time both running out and standing still. Didn't go down too well with the action crowd, but the people who matter like it so I'm very pleased with the result!
