Well tbf, he sounds like an idiot.
Uncharted 1 is neither a 'classic within the medium' or close to as good Uncharted 2 according to every other review.

I wasn't shocked looking at that score, that's what I'm expecting, definitely. I hate the internet.

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
Whether or not the reviewer nails it is not the real question. It's more the way that having an opinion that stands out from the majority of the gaming presses results in a lynching. Doing it for the hits? Anti-PS3 fanboys? Don't these people realize that journalists are professional adults?
Gamer.no even released an article responding to all the comments, simply because the site was drowning in hate. Something is very, very wrong with gamers.

Don't you realize that this is going to happen every time a game of this magnitude comes out? The sooner you accept that half of all gamers are going to react this way to reviews against the grain the better...Kaptain Kaviar wrote:Whether or not the reviewer nails it is not the real question. Does that mean I have to calmly accept racism, war, religion and poverty as well?

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
It's hardly the same to be honest. Their opinions aren't going to matter in the long term anyway.

Oh come on guys. You are all getting a bit upset over a fucking article on the internet. People are trolling, yes, but hoenstly, why do you care so much? You think a comment section on a webpage gives a fair reflection of "gamers" Major.

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
Sadly, it probably does. The minority will defend the article whether they agree or not, the rest will see it as categorically wrong and a pernicious attack on the developers, despite the score still actually meaning it's a very good game.DanglyBrasco wrote:Oh come on guys. Oh, and what did the second article say, Major?

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
I thought post 1.11 definitely had a point. Halo and Gears get top score but PS3 exclusives get shafted. I smell bullshit.
Re: Gamer.no does it again...
This guy has an uncanny knack for making my blood fucking curdle.
It`s clear now. Anyone, who rates Uncharted 2 same or less as Halo:ODST is clearly biased. The games are in defferente leagues. Uncharted 2 is giving so much VALUE for a GAMER, that any expansion ever could.
An 8? same as ODST? Those sites should be just forbidden/BANNED, as they are clearly biased and unproffesional.
EVERYONE have their opinions, but it`s a PROFESSIONALISM to see that game is GREAT and GOTY, not just opinion, where you like game or not so much.

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
Basically they first underline that it doesn't matter whatsoever what console the game they're playing is on, as they all love gaming and own all the current gaming machines. They also don't understand why it should be such a big deal in the first place.
They address the "Just for the hits" accusations by saying that if that was their intention their readers would no doubt lose faith in the site and it would instead leave to the site being deserted. What they should have done, from a PR perspective, is censor the article. But that they reckon is ridiculous, having an opinion and standing by it is what Gamer believes in.
They also listed their average scores for exclusives on the 360 and PS3:
"så er snittet 6,97 for PlayStation 3 og 6,38 for Xbox 360."
As was then apparent, the average for PS3 games was higher and that should remove the charges of bias, which they find ludicrous on the whole.

Gamer.no is Norways biggest independent gaming site and I'm glad that it's not afraid to go against the big american review sites.
Here's the article in full if you want to put it through a shitty translation thingy:

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
Don't know if any of you followed the same fallout with ODST on NowGamer. Situation was identical.
Basically the game was given a 6.3 and, when N4G added the review to their site, similar fanboyism ensued.
Here's their reply:

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
Fuck fanboyism.Fuck non fanboyism. We like games that appeal to us, yes? Who gives a flying fuck about scores, or averages or whatever. Im going to play every game for myself and see what i think, instead of relying upon moronic "journalists" to tell me how i feel.
Who says they know better than i do? No one!! I like what i liike, and if i dont liek the new incarnation of Uncharted (I ont actually know) then fuck em!

Re: Gamer.no does it again...
All trolling aside, Dangly's right. No one should care that much about reviews. I use scores as a very vague line of guidance. If it gets generally favourable reviews then it's probably more likely to be worth investing in. If I'm looking forwards to a game and it gets 70 on metacritic I'll still buy it.
